Check Card Convenience
Visa check card offers the convenience of a credit card, but simply deducts the amount from your checking account which means you never pay finance charges.  It's safer than cash and can be used at retailers who don't accept checks or ATM cards.  Our check card also doubles as your ATM card allowing you access to thousands of ATMs.

When you sign for your check card purchases, you are automatically covered by Visa's Zero Liability Coverage.  That means, you pay nothing for fraudulent activity.  Your signature also preserves your ability to dispute a charge, if necessary. 

Check Card Security
As part of our state of the art fraud detection system, an alert is generated when a transaction on your debit or credit card appears to fall outside of your normal spending pattern.  If you are traveling out of state, out of the country or making a large purchase, please contact the Credit Union prior to your travel or purchase transaction, in order to bypass an alert on your account.  

The security alert triggers a call from a fraud analyst or automated voice system to the phone number on record with the Credit Union asking you to verify whether you authorized this transaction.  By confirming the last four digits of your social security number and the transaction, you may continue to use your debit or credit card.  If the fraud analyst cannot make immediate contact with you, the card may be blocked from future transactions until you can be reached for confirmation.  It is important that you provide us your most current phone numbers including cell phone numbers.

Final checking account and Visa check card establishment is subject to approval through ChexSystems.  Direct deposit checking: Free checking requires direct deposit be established within 60 days of account opening or a $5 monthly fee applies. 

ATM fee reimbursement available on domestic ATMs only and limited to $3 per transaction and $12 per month.  Twelve ATM withdrawals free per month; $1 per withdrawal after that; a fee may be imposed by the ATM owner.
