We launched our Community Involvement program in 2001. Since that time, we have given more than $1 million to the communities we serve.  Highlights of our Community Involvement program:

  • Improved the lives of more than 386,000 individuals
  • Grants given to more than 100 different organizations
  • Focused on helping disadvantaged and underserved individuals
  • Grants fund education, health, safety, abuse prevention and other programs 
  • We offer free meeting space to 501c3 organizations (call for details)

Child Safety Day Hosted by Pacific Service Credit Union in Livermore

Livermore, Calif., June 22, 2009 Pacific Service Credit Union partnered with six local community organizations to welcome children and parents to its Child Safety Day on Saturday, June 6.  The event was held in the Credit Union’s Livermore branch and Community Room, located at 2800 Kitty Hawk Road.  Child Safety Day featured free DNA LifePrint kits, Biometric fingerprinting, Child Safety Journals, and valuable child safety information. (Full Release)

Local Credit Union Continues its Corporate Philanthropy
May 18, 2009 –
Throughout the first quarter of this year, one local credit union continued its tradition of giving back to the communities it serves.  From January to March, Pacific Service Credit Union donated more than $30,000 to nine non-profit organizations throughout Northern California. 
 

Local Individuals Continue to Benefit from Credit Union Philanthropy
January 2009
– Despite the downturn in global financial markets, one credit union continued its long-standing tradition of helping to improve the lives of local people at-risk.  In 2008, Pacific Service Credit Union donated more than $130,000 to non-profit organizations throughout Northern California.  Funds donated impacted the lives of nearly 60,000 people according to the credit union.

Pacific Service Credit Union Works to Make a Difference this Holiday Season
December 2008 –
Local non-profits, which are facing lower than average donations during this holiday season, can breathe a sigh of relief.  Pacific Service Credit Union joined their efforts to bring some cheer to needy families.  This year the credit union and its employees contributed to a variety of local charities: The Salvation Army Food Basket Program; the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County’s Buy a Bag program; The Salvation Army Toy Drive; and the Bay Area Crisis Nursery’s Decorate a Tree program. 

Open Heart Kitchen Receives Funding from Pacific Service Credit Union
December 2008
– Livermore’s Open Heart Kitchen will continue serving needy Tri-Valley citizens thanks to a donation from Pacific Service Credit Union.  The credit union has donated funds to assist the non-profit in its efforts to provide hot meals and box lunches to low-income senior citizens, families, and children.

Oakland Seniors Receive Assistance with Groceries From Pacific Service Credit Union
December 2008 –
Some of Oakland’s disadvantaged senior citizens will receive healthy and nutritious food thanks to a donation from Pacific Service Credit Union.  The credit union’s contribution to Oakland’s Mercy Retirement & Care Center will provide 50 seniors with 15-20 pounds of groceries twice monthly for an entire year.
Pacific Service Credit Union Helps At-Risk Children

November 2008 – Pacific Service Credit Union continues its sponsorship of Huckleberry Youth Programs.  The credit union’s 2008 donation will be used to provide meals and snacks for runaway and homeless youth at the Huckleberry Youth Program shelters in San Francisco and Marin Counties.
 
Pacific Service Credit Union Gives Students a Whale of a Time
November 2008
– Pacific Service Credit Union announced it has given a $5,000 grant to The Marine Mammal Center for the organization’s Whale Bus outreach program.  The grant will allow The Marine Mammal Center to bring marine science to schools in low income areas throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
 
Pacific Service Credit Union Partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for Annual Picnic
October 2008
– Pacific Service Credit Union was the presenting sponsor of the annual picnic for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area.   The event allowed the Big Brothers and the Big Sisters to come together with their little brother/sister for a fun-filled day at a local park.   This year, the event took place on September 20 at Central Park in Fremont, Calif.
 
Fresno Cross City Race
October 2008 – Pacific Service Credit Union returned as a sponsor of the 26th Annual Cross City Race. The Race, held on Sunday, September 21, benefited the St. Agnes Medical Center Cancer Services. This year, the credit union also sponsored 10 children who wanted to participate in the race, but could not afford to.
 
Big Brothers Big Sisters for Annual Picnic

Child Safety Day Hosted by Pacific Service Credit Union in Livermore

“Our annual Child Safety Day is an opportunity to bring the important issue of child safety to the forefront,” said Steve Punch, president of Pacific Service CU.  “We host three events annually at our branches in Fresno, Vacaville and Livermore.  We are delighted with the reception we received from these communities and with the number of community partners we work with each year – all of us focusing on the health, well-being and safety of children.” 
 
At the Livermore event community partners that participated in Child Safety Day included Axis Community Health, California State Automobile Association, Livermore Fire Department, Livermore Police Department, Livermore Moms Club, and Valley Care Health System. 
 
“This is our second year hosting this event,” said Michele, Livermore branch manager for Pacific Service Credit Union.  “We were overwhelmed by the support of the community, especially the participation of our community partners who are in the business of public safety and who provided important information to local families.” 
 
The Community Room facility in Pacific Service CU’s Livermore branch is located at 2800 Kitty Hawk Road, and is available for use by community groups.  Interested groups should contact the Credit Union at (888) 858-6878 ext. 5621 about the Community Room.
