Bank of America recently announced a new $5 monthly debit card fee, which will go into effect next year. Chase Bank and Wells Fargo Bank have also implemented a monthly debit card fee in test markets, suggesting that they may roll out a nationwide fee in the future. Citibank will begin charging minimum balance fees in December. Our members, and many other consumers who are fed up with the continued big bank fee increases, have called us with questions about our fees and future plans with product pricing.
Let me assure you that Pacific Service CU will continue to serve our members by offering high-quality and affordable financial services.
Our debit card is free. We have no plans to follow in the footsteps of Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo by charging monthly fees to use your debit card.
